Two award-winning Tassie drinks arrive on shelves for summer
Winemaking Tasmania has released two refreshing new drinks for summer - Black Devil Cider and Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion.
Black Devil Cider is a slightly dry cider crafted and made from 100% fresh Tasmanian apples, hand-picked, sorted and washed, before being milled and undergoing a long, cool fermentation. Black Devil has already been awarded Silver at both GLINTCAP 2018 and 2018 World Cider Awards, along with a Bronze Medal at the 2018 San Francisco International Wine Competition.
Tapping into the emerging fruit fusion category, Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion offers a unique blend of hand-picked and sorted Tasmanian apples, cherries and Pinot Noir grapes, pressed and fermented, then blended and lightly carbonated. Blushing Lady was recently awarded a Bronze Medal at the 2018 San Francisco International Wine Competition.
Winemaking Tasmania CEO, Jonathan Lord said: “We are delighted with the success of Black Devil and are excited to introduce a new style of drink with our Blushing Lady. We saw an opportunity to create a new drink that’s refreshing but not overly sweet; and will impress both wine drinkers and seasoned cider fans, as well as those looking to enjoy something a little different."
Winemaking Tasmania Cider Maker Melissa Fettke added: “There is a cider out there to suit everyone. Our focus at Winemaking Tasmania is to show just how great cider can be, using the best local produce to make Aussies aware of the unique flavours and characteristics our produce can deliver.”
